Our Story
Cabinet Jewellery is the culmination of a lifelong passion for collecting, storytelling, and design.
I grew up in the Cayman Islands, where my parents lived for nearly twenty years. Surrounded by crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and the ever-changing beauty of the Caribbean, I developed an early fascination with the natural treasures found both above and below the ocean's surface. Those experiences continue to shape my creative vision today.
Many of my earliest memories are of beachcombing after tropical storms, searching for hidden treasures washed ashore. They may not have been made of gold, but to me they were every bit as valuable. That sense of curiosity and discovery became the foundation of Cabinet Jewellery.
The name Cabinet was inspired by the curiosity cabinets I have filled throughout my life and the fascinating collections I discovered while exploring antique shops, flea markets, and reclamation yards. Each object carried a story, a history, and a sense of wonder. Today, Cabinet represents that same spirit of exploration, reinvention, and appreciation for beautiful things that stand the test of time.
From my studio in Devon, just outside Exeter, I design jewellery inspired by nature, travel, and the textures and colours of the world around us. My collections draw on memories of tropical coastlines and endless summers, while being proudly crafted in Britain. I work closely with skilled craftspeople in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter to bring each design to life, combining thoughtful design with exceptional craftsmanship.
At the heart of the brand is a belief that life's greatest treasures are not the things we own, but the memories we create and the experiences that shape us. One moment that has stayed with me was discovering a memorial on a small island in Australia's Whitsundays dedicated to a young free diver who disappeared at sea. Inscribed on the tribute were words I have never forgotten:
"A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for."
Those words have become a guiding philosophy for both my life and my business—a reminder to embrace adventure, take chances, and follow your own path.
