Ryder & Hope

I recently visited Lyme Regis for a relaxed day in the sunshine with friends; having spent the latter part of my school years there it was nice to head back and see that it’s still the same quintessential seaside town it’s always been. With breathtakingly beautiful scenery, lovely shops and eateries retaining all the original charm that so many people love about it. The panoramic views, sea air and surrounding cliffs of the Jurassic coast that hold artefacts and evidence of life on earth millions of years ago, tales from past eras and explorers along with some of the most significant geological finds of all time. This place offers something for everyone and is the perfect weekend escape to explore and unwind.

My favourite shop to visit while on the high street has to be the beautiful grade II listed double fronted retail space of Ryder & Hope, founded by Alice Meller and Michelle Blyth who established the shop with a true love and appreciation for well-made contemporary products and craftsmanship that are both practical and beautiful. Working closely with talented local artists, makers, and ethically sourced items from around the world they have created a unique blend of home wares and accessories filled with tactile qualities and unusual treasures that you will love to spend your time discovering.
