Courtenay and Alex

Courtenay and Alex

We wanted to start the year off with a totally inspiring and beautiful blog post featuring my dear friend Courtenay and her epic partner Alex.

Now let me tell you these guys know how to throw a party, mix that with the wedding of the year and a location of dreams, you know it’s going to be mind blowing. Their idyllic family-owned vineyard and estate set the scene with magical views over the river Dart and beyond.

Blessed with one of the nicest weeks of the summer, the ceremony overlooked the water where the service was officiated by one of the bride and grooms closest friends. There were canapés and cocktails in the garden, wildflowers growing everywhere and live music drifting through the flower scented air.

The evening dinner and dancing was set in the large old barn that had been filled with fresh local flowers and foliage curated by The Flower Sessions and vintage furniture from Virginia's Vintage hire. Dreamy rustic table settings adorned with the family’s fabulous wine and handwritten jars of Grannies special marmalade, all the touches that make a wedding so personal.

This carefully planned masterpiece was realised with the help of Fern Godfrey - If you are looking for someone to add just the right amount of highly considered detail then look no further than Fern Godfrey weddings who is perfection.

Courtenay has a laid-back heir to her style, the kind of effortlessly beautiful girl next door feel, with a knockout smile who seems to be able to to carry off just about any style she chooses. Her dress was the perfect choice for her petite frame, designed by Costarellos it was quirky yet refined with an element of theatre. There was even a flash of animal print from her large Charlotte Olympia wedge heals. Courtenay mixes the unexpected and it works perfectly. We were so delighted that she wore her bespoke Cabinet headdress while listening to the heartfelt and equally hilarious speeches.

We created beautiful hand engraved wedding bands from old gold that we melted down to keep them feeling truly special. This had been passed down to Alex from his grandmother. We also made some some beautiful Bamboo hoop earrings set with opals for Courtenay.

These guys radiate love and not just to one another but to anyone lucky enough to cross their paths, with their warm and generous nature you are always uplifted by their free-spirited attitude towards life’s trials and we wish them every happiness.
